Varsity Falls to Robinson, 2-1

Centreville dominated the first half of the game, but Robinson's strong second half was the deciding factor. Robinson scored first with a goal 10 minutes into the game. The Rams offense dribbled the ball along the baseline, avoided defenders, and shot between goalkeeper Carolyn Macek's right foot and the post for the score. Macek had 2 saves in the half. Centreville tied the game with less than 2 minutes remaining in the first half, with repeated attempts following a penalty corner -- capped by an assist by Sasha Rocke and score by Stacey McCormack.

Robinson scored again 10 minutes into the second half, when a rebound off Wildcat goalkeeper Betsy McCracken was flicked into the goal. Robinson took 6 shots on goal in the second half, and McCracken walked away with 5 strong saves. Katy Kelly had a solid game on defense. The Wildcat offense had numerous fast breaks and dribbling attacks by Alex Peterson and Molly MacDonnell, but Robinson's defense only allowed Centreville 2 shots on goal in the second half. It was not enough, and the clock ran out before the Wildcats could score.
