Varsity Beats Chantilly 2-1

Chantilly was on the scoreboard first with a goal after a long hit and scuffle in front of the cage, with 6 minutes remaining in the first half. Centreville took only one shot on goal in the first half.

The second half was different, as Centreville took 10 penalty corners and 5 shots on goal in the half. The first goal came 5 minutes into the half, when a penalty corner was passed back to Molly MacDonnell who sent it through to Katie Russell for the finish. Centreville scored again with 16:24 remaining, when a long hit by Vicky LaLiberte was passed from Haili Hartman to Alex Peterson for the score. Chantilly tried to counter several times, but Centreville did not let them score..

Centreville's goalie, Carolyn Macek, had 6 saves in the game, including two split saves and a punch clear. She was aided on defense by Rachel Behne and Katy Kelly. Susie Lesniewski and Emily Bollman had strong games in midfield.
