JV Cats Lose to Oakton, 0-1
The Centreville JV girls played a strong second half against Oakton, but were unable to counter Oakton's first half goal. Oakton scored about 10 minutes into the game off a penalty corner (they took 6 corners in the half). Centreville was unable to put any offense together until the second half, when Mackenzie Johnson and Haley Carlson tried to pass and dribble their way to the goal. The Cats had two shots on goal in the half, but the Oakton goalie denied them both. Centreville goalkeeper Brittanie Peterson had 7 saves in the game. On defense, Nancy Herbert, Mary Kate Goff and Megan McAuliffe had solid performances.
