Varsity Comes Close to Shutting Out Westfield, Loses 0-1

Centreville goalie Carolyn Macek's 16 saves kept the Westfield Bulldogs scoreless for 67.5 minutes of play. The game was tied 0-0 at the end of regulation play, but Westfield was able to get a rebounded ball into the goal halfway through the overtime period. This contest was a solid defensive display by Macek, as well as Wildcat defenders Katy Kelly, Annie Paradis, Rachel Behne, Emily Bollman, and Vicky LaLiberte. In midfield, Susie Lesniewski had key interceptions and outlet passes, but the Westfield defense kept the Wildcat offense to 3 shots on goal the entire game. Centreville's Alex Peterson, Haili Hartman and Molly MacDonnell showed their usual speed and fortitude up front, but Westfield seemed to intercept every pass and stop every dribble.
