Varsity Wildcats Sting Hornets, 1-0

Varsity improved their season record to 8-4-1 with a shutout against Herndon, 1-0. Centreville took 7 shots on goal in each half, but was only able to put one of them in the net. The score came just 4 minutes into the game, when Alex Peterson dribbled up the field and lifted the ball past the Herndon goalie for the point. The Wildcats took a total of 11 penalty corners in the game, but every shot was stopped by the Herndon defense. Molly MacDonnell, Haili Hartman, and Katie Russell had strong games on offense. Herndon took only 2 shots on goal in the game, both saved by Wildcat goalie Carolyn Macek. Fullback Sami Berkley played well, with several key stops.
